- The following appeared on 19 October 1972 in The Hamburg Sun: A memorial service was held yesterday morning in Trinity Episcopal Church for William E. Pippine of Chapman Pkwy, who died Sunday in his 53rd year. The Rev. George C. Ruof, rector, officiated with burial in Bufalo Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Mr. Pippine, born in Buffalo, worked for Allied Chemical 26 years. He moved to Hamburg in 1951.
He was a steward of what is now the International Union of District 50, Allied and Technical Workers, from 1962-64, and a member of the Outboard Club of the Tonawandas Inc.
Mr. Pippine is survived by his wife, the former Jean E. Lommer; two sons, Lt. William R. Pippine of Neurnberg, Germany, and Howard J. Pippine, of Cincinnati, Ohio; his mother, Mrs. Amanda Pippine, and one sister, Mrs. Harold Lommer. - Jean E. Borth became a widow at his death.

The wife of the late William E. Pippine and Eugene A. Gerhardt, she is survived by sons, William R. (Eileen) and Howard (Elizabeth) Pippine; stepson, Larry (Lorraine) Gerhard; stepdaughter, Sheila (James) Ryan; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gerhardt was a former secretary for Trinity Episcopal Church, and was a member of St. Amelia's Senior Citizens and General Motors Retirees.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church in Hamburg or St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, Tonawanda.
