         She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Demopolis, and was a charter member of the Pilot Club. She was also a member of the Southside Garden Club, the Music Study Club and the Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, where she spent 20 years doing volunteer work. She retired in February 1985 after 30 years of work with the water works board of the City of Demopolis.
         She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, George Powers Davis; her mother and father, Janie Bailey Spight and John H. Spight Sr; a brother, John H. Spight Jr; and a grandson, Gary Camp Coker Jr.
         She is survived by her daughter, Jane Davis (Gary) Coker of Kennesaw, Ga; a son, George Powers (Trenella) Davis Jr. of Demopolis; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth “Betsy” Coker (Rhodes) Scott, Catherine “Catie” Camp Coker, Kevin Davis (Samia) Coker, Emily Jane Coker, George Powers (Elizabeth) Davis III, Michelle “Mikki” Davis (Micah) Moffett, Jessica Crawford (Jake) Sims and Amber Crawford (Matthew) Mitchell; six great-grandchildren, Tucker Rhodes Scott, Coker Warfield Scott, Annie Bailey Scott, Mason (Gene) Moffett, Ethan (Ryan) Mitchell and Joshua (James) Mitchell; and a host of nieces and nephews.
         Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Demopolis with the Rev. Tommy Carr officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Kidd-Robins Funeral Directors of Demopolis is directing the services. The family will receive friends at Mrs. Davis’s family home on Sunday, Jan. 31, from 2 to 4 p.m. The home was built in 1854, and Mrs. Davis was the fourth generation to live there. It was her home for 88 years.
         Pallbearers will be Tom Boggs, Andy Dukes, George Patterson, Billy Symon, Dick Farst and Dan Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
