The evening was spent in playing games and cards during which refreshments were served.

  • The following appeared on 12 July 1911 in the San Antonio Express: A quiet and pretty home wedding occurred last evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Clayton Harris on Carson Street when their daughter, Leila, was married to Dr. Charles Edmund Stevens [sic] of this city. The marriage ceremony was performed by Rev. S. H. C. Burgin of the Travis Park Methodist Church, with only relatives and a few friends present. Dr. and Mrs. Stevens left immediately for a wedding trip.
  • The following appeared on 30 December 1951 in the San Antonio Light: First of 300 new homes in Greenlawn terrace -- a brand new north side subdivision lying just north of Greenlawn estates, between West ave. and Vance-Jackson rd. -- have been started. One commercial area will be located just north of the old Stephens home on West ave. The other commercial area will be on Vance-Jackson rd. The homes will be built on four east-west streets --- and should be real values. Frank Robertson and his associates purchasee the 81 acres from Mrs. Leila Harris Stephens. The tract lies immediately north of Sherwood dr. It extends north along the west side of West ave. to Basse rd. . . .

  • The following appeared on 25 November 1970 in the San Antonio Express: Mrs. Charles Edumnd (Leila Harris) Stephens, 80, of 318 Park Lane Drive, died Tuesday. Survivors include two daughters and six grandchildren. Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Heights Methodist Church, followed by private burial in City Cemetery, Porter Loring directing.
