And on Friday, 4 July, "Camping on the road. Camped at McNeese's and worked back this morning 2-1/2 miles, and finished. All hands got home last night."
  • On Wednesday, 5 November 1851, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: Sent Bob and King with ox team to McNeese's for Lumber; Willis B. W. sent his waggon also." And on the following day, "Willis' waggon returned from McNeese's with 1017 feet Lumber, 6 mules."

  • On Sunday, 18 April 1852, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Waggon returned from San Jacinto boat with 1 Bl Lard, two Bl molasses, Hogshead Bacon sides, 3 Barrels port, 1/2 Barrel rice, 1 sack fine salt, left at McNeese's 10 Bars of Iron & 5 Sacks of Salt."

The road measured from the Sanjacinto crossing to McNeese's 17 miles & from McNeese's to Danville 19-3/4 miles."
