  • She married Thomas Devereaux Cobbs, son of Thomas Cobbs and Lucy Thom, on 24 October 1883 in Grimes County, Texas.
  • The following appeared on 26 October 1883 in The Galveston Daily News: (Navasota, Oct. 25) Wednesday night, October 24, one of the most notable weddings that has occurred for some time took place between Miss Carrie Quinney, daughter of Dr. R. Quinney, the former postmaster here, and Captain Thomas D. Cobbs, a prominent lawyer of Grimes county, Rev. W. J. Phillips officiating. The marriage was in the Methodist church, and witnessed by an immense assembly. Fourteen little misses, from six to ten years of age, seven dressed in white and pink and seven in white and blue, R. M. Lawson of this city, and Miss Willie Mabry, of Waco, were the attendants. The bridal party attended a ball given by the Navasota Guards, at Smith's opera-house. The music was by the Brenham band.
         One hundred and twenty-six friends, from four States, gave valuable, rich and useful presents, ranging from a full set of furniture, a horse and phaeton, to minor articles. The Navasota Guards presented Captain Cobbs a splendid tilting silver pitcher and goblets, suitable inscribed.
         Everything passed off pleasantly, and was witnessed by the bride's father, just returned from Eagle Pass.

    The Galveston Daily News: (Navasota, June 12) Mrs. D. C. Cobbs has been appointed assistant superintendent of the city schools. She is a very successful educator and very popular.
  • The following appeared on 15 January 1892 in The Galveston Daily News: (Navasota, Jan. 14) Jan. 14.--Dr. Rigdon Quinney died suddenly at his home in this city on Tuesday, at 1.48 p. m., from the effects of la grippe. His remains were taken to Houston and interred at Glenwood cemetery [sic]yesterday evening.
         Dr. Quinney was well know in Grimes county, having practiced medicine here and at Anderson for fifteen years. He was ex-alderman and postmaster at Navasota. He leaves a wife and one daughter. The latter is Mrs. T. D. Cobbs, wife of T. D. Cobbs, a leading attorney at Houston.
  • The following appeared on 23 October 1892 in The Galveston Daily News: (Anderson, Oct. 22) General James W. Barnes died at his home, about three miles southeast of this place, yesterday at 7 o'clock a. m., in the 75th year of his age. General Barnes was among the early settlers of Grimes county; was one of the commissioners to locate and lay out the town of Anderson, the county seat when the county was organized. The general was always broad and enlightened in his views, and was a successful planter here prior to the civil war. He was during the war elected to a brigadier generalship of state militia. Since the war he had been connected with a number of important business enterprises in Texas. He was the father of Mrs. C. C. Gibbs of San Antonio and the grandfather of Mrs. T. D. Cobb of Houston, who, with Mrs. Dr. R. Quinney and his faithful life partner, are left to mourn his loss. He was interred in the family burying ground to-day at 10 a. m. His death has cast a gloom over this community.
  • The following appeared on 11 December 1892 in The Galveston Daily News: (Houston, Dec. 10) Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Cobbs, esteemed and popular members of Houston society, in consequence of business changes will adopt San Antonio as their home in the near fugure, much to the regret of many friends here.

Cobbs for the purpose of conducting his business, to the Republic of Mexico, City of Mexico, departing Laredo by private car of the Mexican government on 17 January. The was issued on 4 February 1918.
  • Carrie Quinney died on 12 November 1932 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, at 4700 West Commerce at her residence. . Her death was officially witnessed by Thomas Devereaux Cobbs Jr.
  • Her husband Thomas Devereaux Cobbs became a widower at her death.
  • She was interred at Odd Fellows Cemetery, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.
