  • The following appeared on 20 January 1908 in The State: (Cheraw, Jan 19) The funeral services of Mrs. Laura Harrell, widow of the late Capt. J. P. Harrall, were held yesterday afternoon at St. David's Episcopal Church at 3 o'clock, the interment taking place afterwards in the family burying ground.
         Mrs. Harrall was taken sick about two weeks ago with grippe and died early Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. H. Reid, with whom she has lived for the past few years.
         She was an earnest and consistent member of the Episcopal church, a devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed by a wide circle of friends and relatives. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. H. Scott of Sumter and Mrs. M. H. Reid of Cheraw and Mr. Walter Harrall of Norfolk, Va., and a number of grandchildren.
         The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Harold Thomas of Darlington, assisted by Rev. Mr. Hartzell, the rector, the Rev. C. W. Boyd, being absent from town. The pallbearers were: Active, Messrs. W. D. Evans, W. P. Pollock, Edward McIver, W. T. Powell, C. L. Lynch, and Dr. T. E. Wannamaker, Jr; honorary, Capt. T. F. Mallory, Capt. G. M. Hendrix, Maj. M. McR. McLauchlin, Mr. A. L. Evans and Mr. I. S. Huntley.
