  • The following appeared on 13 November 2012 in The News Tribune: Betty J. Baldtrip was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1928 to Clarence and Bessie (Jackson) Morris. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 in Tacoma, Washington. Betty and her sister Earlene had a wonderful childhood growing up, known as the "Preachers" daughters. Betty met Roy Baldtrip in 1944, fell in love, and soon became a Union in August 1945. Betty and Roy have celebrated 67 years of wedded bliss. Survived by husband Roy, and 4 children, Faye, Roy Jr. (Rhondrea), Roberta, and Karen. She also has 5 grandchildren, Tina, Norrissia, Keysa (Jonathan), Chiquita, and Whilton, great-grandchildren Tavares (Cherie), Laquishia, Isaiah, Abriana, Melina and Camille, great-great-grandchildren Atira, Aren, Ahniah, James, and Jaiden, God-son Emmanuel, and a host of extended family. Preceded in death by daughter Donna Jean, Dad Clarence, mother Bessie, sister Earlene, and son-in-law Nate. She was a faithful woman who kept her family together and in prayer always. She will be greatly missed by all. Mom, we will see you in Heaven. A Celebration of Life and Home-Going will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the Mountain View Funeral Home Valley Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood WA.
  • The following appeared on 4 November 2014 in The Seattle Times: Bishop Roy H. Baldtrip was born in Paradise, Oklahoma to Roy H. Baldtrip and Alice M. Jones (Higgs). He passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2014 in Tacoma, WA. Bishop Baldtrip was the eldest sibling of 5. He had 3 Brothers Bobby, Billy and Ronnie, and 2 Sisters Audrey and Juanita. Roy moved to Wichita Kansas in 1944 and later met Betty, and in 1945 she became his Loving Wife, a long-time partner and mother of 5 wonderful children. They celebrated 67 years of wedded bliss until the Lord called her home in November 2012. In 1957 Bishop Baldtrip started his Christian work. He held many positions and later became a Deacon in the church, and then worked diligently and became a Pastor and later was appointed Bishop. He held many positions throughout his career as an Entrepreneur-Caterer, Truck Driver, Building Engineer at Sears Roebuck, Maintenance Supervisor at Boeing, and he led a very active lifestyle serving and worshiping the Lord. Bishop Baldtrip loved his family dearly and always kept them in his prayers.
         Bishop Baldtrip leaves to mourn 4 children; Faye, Roy Jr. (Rhondrea), Roberta and Karen (Kevin), 5 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; and 5 Great-great Grandchildren; God-son, many nieces and nephews and a host of extended family. Preceded in death is Wife-Betty, Daughter Donna, Parents Roy and Alice, Brothers Bobby, Ronnie, Sisters Audrey (Red), Juanita, and Son-in-law, Nate. A Special Thanks to longtime caregivers Janet, Judy, Raelene, Ebony and Cynthia that made our family complete.
         Bishop Baldtrip was a faithful confidant to many. He assisted many people in his lifetime and never met a stranger. He shared an unconditional love for people. He's a retired Bishop of Full Gospel Pentecostal Missionary Association, Seattle Washington and Pastor of God's Pentecostal Church, Tacoma Washington. He will be missed by all! Dad we will see you in Heaven.
