  • The following appeared on 2 June 1895 in The Daily Picayune: Miss Christine Walthall, granddaughter of the late Colonel L. N. Walthall, on her way home from Belmont College, Nashville, Tenn., is stopping with her friend, Miss Anna Kurtz, for a few days before going to her home in San Antonio, Tex.
  • Christine Walthall died on 22 March 1907 in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.
  • The following appeared on 23 March 1907 in The Galveston Daily News: (San Antonio, March 22) Leon Walthall, cashier of the American Bank and Trust Company, has received a telegram from New Orleans to the effect that his sister, Mme. Christine Walthall of the Sacred Heart Society, died in that city Thursday afternoon. Mme. Walthall was 32 years old and spent her young womanhood in this city, where whe has many friends. She is survived by two brothers and two sisters. The funeral will be held in New Orleans.
  • The following appeared on 7 October 1914 in The Dallas Morning News: (San Antonio, Oct. 6) Miss Sallie Walthall, 58 years old, daughter of Judge and Mrs. L. N. Walthall, died at her home in San Antonio this morning. Miss Walthall was widely known in this vicinity. She was called "mother" by the children of John Walthall, her brother, because she reared them after his death. They are John Walthall of El Paso, Mrs. George J. Pancoast and Mrs. Mattie Walthall Lehman, both of San Antonio, and Madam Christine Walthall of the Sacred Heart Convent, New Orleans.
