  • The following appeared on 20 June 2014 in The Daily Sentinel: Shelley [sic] Ann Turner, 72, of Yantis passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at her home. Memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, June 20, at the Lake Fork Baptist Church. The Rev. David Smith and the Rev. Arlis Banks will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Nacogdoches. Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home of Emory is in charge of the cremation arrangements. Shelley was born in Texarkana, Ark. on Nov. 28, 1942, to David Wood and Dorothy Elizabeth McLain Nash. She married Jerry Turner in Nacogdoches on Oct. 19, 1974. Shelley was a member of Lake Fork Baptist Church. She worked most all of her life in the banking industry. Shelley was also a member of Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Edward Turner of Yantis; daughters, Selena Stanley Bolton, and husband, Tom, of Pearland, Susan Stanley Dodson of Fort Worth, and Robin Turner Aboitiz, and husband, Mikel, of Cebu, Philippines; sons, Bobby M. Stanley, and wife, Kim, of Moyock, N.C., and John E. Turner, and wife, Anne, of Poetry, Texas; sister, Jean White, and husband, Jim, of Gladewater; brother, John D. Nash, and wife, Jonetta, of Jasper; 14 grandchildren, Michael Bolton, Bradley Bolton, Gary Marron, Jeremy Marron, Kyle Marron, Natalie Dodson, Jonathan Stanley, Justin Stanley, Jessica Stanley, Joshua Turner, David Aboitiz, Caroline Aboitiz, Nicolas Aboitiz and Sarah Aboitiz; five great-grandchildren, Jeremy Jay, and Michael, Paisley, Mason and Connor; in-laws, Larry and Joyce Turner and Marilyn and Howard Watson, both of Kilgore; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends. She was preceded by her parents; four sisters, Frances "Sissy" Tucker, Lura McGowan, Judy Nash and Ona Nash; and two brothers-in-law, Frank Tucker and E.O. McGowan. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Gary, Jeremy and Kyle Marron, Jonathan and Justin Stanley, Michael and Bradley Bolton, Josh Turner, David and Nicolas Aboitiz, and a family friend, Cody Beaver.
