         She went by Karen and loved the colors blue and red. She was a naturally cheerful person who never complained and was adored by her co-workers, family and most people she met. She graduated from W. W. Samuel in Dallas in 1967 and attended Baylor University. She married her high school sweetheart while they were at Baylor together in 1969. She enjoyed hiking, taking vacations, and always synchronizing her appearance. It's said that her favorite hobby in life was her family and relationships with others. Karen was a legendary typist who loved her cats and her dog "Sam". She worked as a secretary and homemaker before working at the Social Security Administration for 25 years, ending her working career as the deputy director of the Grand Prairie Social Security Teleservice Center. In retirement she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as well as attending Dallas Stars games with her husband. She has been an active member of First Baptist Church since 1974 and has many friendships at this church.
         She is preceded in death by her parents Simmie C. Ward and Lucille Teague Ward.
         She is survived by her husband of 44 years John Michael Corn, two daughters and son-in-laws, Amy and Martin Monson and Jennifer and Robert Malugen, five grandchildren Chelsea Malugen (9), Connor Monson (6), Alexis Malugen (5), Michael Monson (4) and Lucy Malugen (2), a niece Joley Scotto and nephew Brad Duff, four great nieces Mary Claire Scotto, Caroline Scotto, Anna Claire and Shelby Duff, two great nephews Carson Scotto and Barrett Duff, one sister-in-law Linda Beaver and one brother-in-law David Beaver and one mother-in-law Clarcie Corn.

         Services will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at First Baptist Church at 10 am followed by a graveside at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
