         A retired employee of United Gas Company, he was a member of Mineola Rotary Club, Mineola Chamber of Commerce, George A. Cage Bible Class and First United Metholdist Church of Mineola.
         Survivors include two daughter, Mrs. Martha Liedtke of Houston and Mrs. Carol Hill of New South Wales, Australia; two brothers, Ben Pegues and Robert Pegues, both of Mineola; and two granddaughters.
         Pallbearers were Coulter Templeton, Clifford Dodson, Ed Allen, Herman Dean, Doc Vandiver and Wayne Maurer.
         Honorary pallbearers were J. O. English, Joe Smith, Babe English, Byron Leewright, Tom Rettch, Dr. John Scott, Paul Tiner and the Cage Bible Class of First United Methodist Church.
