         A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12 from Bethel United Methodist Church, Wallace. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
         Born in Marlboro County, Mrs. Bostic was a daughter of Haywood James and Rebecca Scott, and the widow of James Edward Bostic. She graduated second in her class from Coulter Academy in Cheraw and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church for over 60 years. In 1971 she went to work for the South Carolina Department of Social Services as a Homemaker and served there for 22 years.
         Surviving are four sons, James Edward (Edie) Bostic Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., William Carroll Bostic of Cheraw, Phillip Christopher (Vanessa) Bostic of Suffolk, Va., and Gerald Sarius (Beverly) Bostic of Newport News, Va; three daughters, Serita Rebecca B. Gingham, Barbara Ann Bostic and Cossandra Bostic Lemon of Wallace; two stepsons, Lawrence Scott (Barbara) Bostic of Vineland, N.J., and Todd Coit (Minuette) Bostic of Hartsville; three stepdaughters, Lula B. (Phillip) Jones of Columbia, Ella Mae (Walter) Harry of Plainfield, N.J., and Gloria Jean Coit of Cheraw; 33 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Thelma B. Warren of Wallace, and Carolyn B. McConnell of Cheraw; two brothers-in-law, Dewey Bostic of Syracuse, N.Y., and Boyce H. (Annie Mae) Bostic of Wallace; and a number of other family and friends.
         She was preceded in death by three brothers, Theodore R. James, Freddie Lee James and Jesse B. James; a son, Haywood James Bostic; a daughter, Dolly Mae Bostic Pratt; and Horatio Andre Bostic.
         Arrangements were entrusted to Reid's Funeral Home.
