  • The following appeared on 21 September 2003 in The State: (Cheraw) John "Jack" Wilds Pegues, 59, died Friday, September 19, 2003. He was the son of the late John Fletcher and Sarah Pegues. He was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church. Mr. Pegues was a member of the PALSNET, ARRL and an Extra Class Ham Operator. He was the Chesterfield County Emergency Ham Commucations Coordinator and a reporter for the National Weather Service.
         Surviving are his wife, Emma Pegues of Cheraw, S.C; sons, John Frederick Pegues of Cheraw, S.C., Russell Franklin Price of Florence, S.C. and two grandchildren.
         A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2003, at St. David's Episcopal Church, Cheraw, S.C. A committal service will be held in New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. Wallace, S.C.
