Killen's Company of Georgia Infantry, for local defense, to serve within the State of Georgia (which subsequently became Company A, 8th Regiment Georgia State Guards). He counted as was present on company muster rolls to 31 January 1864.
         He re-enlisted in February 1864 in Houston County, Georgia, as a private in Capt. Havis' Battery, 1st Battalion Reserve Artillery (Georgia Light Artillery). He was paroled at Greensboro, North Carolina according to a muster roll dated 27 April 1865, as a member of Capt. Hovis' Company, 14th Artillery Battalion (Palmer's), Army of Tennessee.
