Mrs. Woodall and her guests spent the day with Mrs. P. J. Domingues at her camp near Hunt Saturday. Miss Virginia Woodall accompanied her aunt to Houston Sunday, where she will enter school on Tuesday.

         "Mrs. Annie Gene Woodall announces the marriage of her daughter, Virginia Mitchell, to Aviation Cadet John W. McKewen of Jackson, Miss. The wedding took place Saturday at Pine Bluff, Ark., where the groom is in military training. The bride is the daughter of the late Gillette M. Woodall."
         Mrs. Woodall and daughter and the later Mr. Woodall made their home in Kerrville for several years before returning to Houston to live.
  • The following appeared on 7 May 1942 in the Kerrville Mountain Sun: Virginia Woodall, who was to have been married to a soldier in Little Rock, got stage fright at the last minute and came back to Houston with her mother, postponing the wedding until after the war.
  • The following appeared on 12 August 1943 in The Kerville Mountain Sun: Mrs. Gillette M. Woodall of Houston has announced the marriage of her daughter, Miss Virginia, to Donald Thomas Hughes of Hollywood, Cal., the wedding having been an event of August 1 [sic].
         Mrs. Woodall has been spending a great deal of time in California with her daughter, who was connected with the Geller Work Shop, and who is rehearsing parts for "Death Takes a Holiday" and "Ladies in Retirement."
         Mrs. Hughes lived in Kerrville and at Hunt as a child, and later returned to Houston with her mother. She attended school in Virginia, and for the last few years has been attending a school for the stage and screen in Hollywood. Mr. Hughes is from New York, and has long been associated with the screen and stage, and is at present sound man for the Columbia Broadcasting Stations. He expects to purchase a ranch and raise race horses, according to a letter from Mrs. Woodall to Kerville friends.

  • The following appeared on 31 October 1946 in The Kerville Mountain Sun: Kerr County friends of Mrs. Gillette M. Woodall, 60, will learn with regret of her death, which occurred in Houston Sunday. The Woodalls formerly lived in Hunt and Kerrville, and had many friends. She was a well educated and cultured woman, and was one of the organizers of the Literary Club and the Public Library.
