Jennie Margaret Agnoli

b. 20 October 1882, d. 17 June 1935
  • Jennie Margaret Agnoli was born on 20 October 1882 in Italy.
  • While one researcher has her surname as "Angloi" and another "Egnally," our best guess is that it actually was Agnoli.
  • She married Giovanni da Rin, son of Bartholomeo da Rin and Unknown (?), circa 1903.
  • It appears that Jennie Margaret Agnoli and Giovanni da Rin arrived in New York on 3 October 1903 aboard the SS New York, identified on the passenger manifest as Giovannia (age 21) and Giov Bat Da Rin Zoldan (age 23), and apparently traveling with them was Cesare Darin Puppel (age 23), all bound for Joliet, Illinois. According to the censuses of 1910, 1920 and 1930, John and Jennie Darin immigrated in 1903. On the same page of the passenger manifest was another Da Rin group, some of whom where US citizens, including Vittore (31), Maria 32, Guiseppe (32), Luigi (39), Eugenio (25), Francesco (26), and Sante (48), from Laggio and Vigo Cadore, who likely were cousins of the children (born 1860s-1880s) of Bartholomeo Da Rin known to us.
  • Giovanni da Rin and Jennie Margaret Agnoli appeared in the US federal census of 15 April 1910 in DeKalb, DeKalb County, Illinois, at 1134 East Locust. Other members of the household included Annie Darin. Among the five boarders were Martin Darin (age 35), Tom Puppel (age 24) and John Darin (age 31), all born in Italy.
  • Giovanni da Rin and Jennie Margaret Agnoli appeared in the US federal census of 1 January 1920 in Anderson, Madison County, Indiana, at 1724 Hendricks Street. Other members of the household included Annie Darin, Rosalie Darin, Emma M. Darin, Christine M. Darin and Josephine Darin.
  • Her husband Giovanni da Rin became a widower at her death.
  • Jennie Margaret Agnoli died on 17 June 1935 at age 52.
  • She was interred at Coffee Creek Baptist Cemetery, Paris Crossing, Jennings County, Indiana.
