She was 97 years old. /P/ Mrs. Misenheimer was born on August 7, 1905 in Grady County, Georgia and was the daughter of John and Mamie Thomason. She met and married Melvin Guy Misenheimer, Sr. and they had two sons, Melvin Guy Misenheimer, Jr. and John Daniel Misenheimer. Both her husband and son Guy preceded her in death. She is survived by one brother, Homer Thomason of Slidell, LA, and two sisters, Lil Hinely of Jacksonville, FL and Nelle Murphy of Columbus, GA. Two brothers, Howard and Hansel Thomason, two sisters, Ione Mann and Mary Roberts, and a grandson, Melvin Guy Misenheimer III, preceded her in death. /P/ She is also survived by a son, John Daniel Misenheimer and wife Janis; daughter-in-law, Sue Misenheimer of Chester, SC; grandson John Misenheimer, Jr. and wife Danna; great grandson, Hayden of Columbia, SC; and granddaughter, Robin Misenheimer of Marshville, NC. /P/ The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. from the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of McEwen Funeral with burial to follow in the Lakeland Memorial Park. /P/ In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials made to the Benton Heights Presbyterian Church, 2701 Concord Hwy, Monroe, NC 28110. /P/ The McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe is serving the Misenheimer Family.
