  • William Watters and Eliza (?) appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1850 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi. Other members of the household included Elizabeth E. Watters. Living nearby were Needham Watters/Walters (born about 1820 in North Carolina) and his family, and Mary Watters/Walters (born about 1795? in North Carolina) with Charles (born about 1829 in Mississippi) and other apparent family members.

  • On Saturday, 25 June 1859, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Paid Mr Waters for the seed cotton, 1986 at 2-1/2."
  • On Thursday, 24 November 1859, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Sent 30 hands to pick cotton for Mr Waters at 80 cents per Hundred," and on Friday, "30 hands picking cotton at Mr Waters." On Saturday, the 26th, "30 hands picking cotton for Waters & for Mr Seales, 2750 lbs at 80 per Hundred, $22."
  • On Tuesday, 3 January 1860, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Ginning cotton for Wm Watters."
  • On Tuesday, 10 January 1860, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "packed 10 bales of cotton for Wm Walters."
  • Green Wood recorded on a blank page in his account book, "January 10th 1960, Packed 10 Bales of cotton for Wm Walters, Marked JEG; put in one Bale 119 lb of M. Kellets cotton, used 29 lb of Kellets rope & baging for two Bales, used of my baging for two bales & found the twine for 10 bales."

Watters and W. C. Watters. Also in the household was Alabama-born teacher "J. C. Barrown," age 22. The family was enumerated between the households of Wm & Emily Collard Whitley and B. E. Seals, near Greenwood.

  • William Watters and Eliza (?) appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1870 in Walker County, Texas. Other members of the household included Martha J. Watters and John L. Conn. Also in the household were Elizabeth Green, age 28?, and one female domestic servant.
