LeGrand, uncle of Green Mark's wife Mary Jane LeGrand.]

Church South upon the occasion of the death of Judge Edward McGehee, of Mississippi, who departed this life a few days ago. . . . He had moved into the State in his early manhood some seventy-two years ago. . . . Judge McGehee's own family was a large one. He had been married three times, and was himself the last survivor of thirteen children. His brothers Aber, Abram, John and William were all of them successful planters in Mississippi and Alabama. He at first settled on Thompson's Creek, Miss., and from there removed to the neighborhood of Woodville. Seven of his children and many of his grandchildren still survive him. . . . His son, Micajah, was nursing him in his last illness, when he was suddenly seized with a congestive chill and died.
