         Mr. Holland died shortly after a heart attack Friday afternoon. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Henry, of San Antonio, and Baxter, of Brownsville.
         Born in Man[s]field, Texas, Dec. 20, 1878, he was educated at Baylor University and at the state teachers' college at Huntsville. He moved to Brownsville in 1907, and was admitted to the practice of law after studying in the law office of the late James V. Wells. He was a Mason, and a member of the Episcopal Church.
         Pallbearers included A. K. Black, Sam Bell, Capt. E. M. Dierlam, Fred Rusteberg Sr., I. Dorfman, James A. Browne, Alfred Putegnot, and A. Wayne Wood.
         Honorary pallbearers included Joe Canales, James Abney, R. A. Porter, W. J. Blackshear, R. O. Mackintosh, Milton West, Robert Holland, Floyd Holland and Clyde Holland, Oscar Dancy, R. C. McClus?land, Herbert Yates, Homer Fitch, Louis Brulay, Grover Wagner, and Robert Wagner.

         He was admitted to the hospital Saturday. His home was on Khakurn Wood road.
         Holland was a partner in the New York law firm of Roberts and Holland, having been with the firm since he left the State department in 1956.
         Holland was appointed assistant secretary of state for inter-American affairs in 1954. He served as assistant chief of the Unites delegation to the 10th Inter-American Conference and was later chief of the delegation of the Inter-American Conference on Resources of the Sea in 1956.
         Born in Brownsville, Tex., he was a graduate of the University of the South and the School of Law of the University of Texas.
         He practiced law in Texas until 1942, when he was made a member of the foreign service auxiliary and assigned to the U.S. embassy in Mexico.
         He resumed his law practice in 1945.
         Besides his wife, Mrs. Ann Elizabeth Adams Holland, he leaves two sons, Henry F. Holland Jr. and William W. Holland; a daughter, Anne Elizabeth Holland; and a brother, Baxter F. Holland of Greenwich.
         Funeral services will take place here Friday.
  • The following appeared on 19 July 1962 in The Dallas Morning News: (Greenwich, Conn.) Henry Holland, former assistant secretary of state for inter-American affairs, died Wednesday at Greenwich Hospital after a lingering illness. He was 49.
         Holland, a law graduate of the University of Texas, held his State Department post from 1954 to 1956.
         Holland resigned his federal post in 1956 to join the New York City law firm of Roberts and Holland, and remained a senior partner until his death.
         Born in Brownsville, Texas, he attended Sewanee Military Academy and the University of the South before law school. He practiced law in Texas until 1942, when he became a member of the foreign service auxiliary, assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Mexico.
         He is survived by his widow, Ann Elizabeth Adams Holland; a daughter, Anne Elizabeth; two sons, Henry and William; and a brother, Baxter F. Holland.
