         Mr. Buchanan was 67. A long-time El Paso resident, he moved to Los Alamos as a supervisor for the Zia Corporation for 18 years, until his retirement when he returned here. He awa a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and a veteran of World War I.
         Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Rena Lee Buchanan; a sister, Mrs. J. T. Guynes; and two nieces, Mrs. G. T. Emmett Jr. and Mrs. William James Morgan, all of El Paso.
