  • The following appeared on 28 July 1905 in Columbus Enquirer: Hon. Flynn Hargett, who represents no senatorial ticket district, but the state at large as messenger of the Senate, is one of the best known men in the state. For years and years the Hon. Flynn has been the senatorial messsenger, and though at times he has had opposition for the place, it has amounted to but little. When anybody in the Senate wants to find out anything they always call on Flynn Hargett. He comes from Harris county, where he is one of the leading members of a large family.-- Atlanta Journal. /P/ Mr. Hargett, while retaining his citizenship in Harris county, is in fact a resident of Columbus, having a home on East Highlands. He also has an office on Broad street in this city.

  • The following appeared on 9 January 1921 in The Columbus Ledger: Flynn Hargett. News was received in Columbus yesterday of the death in Atlanta of Flynn Hargett, who formerly lived in Columbus. Mr. Hargett was about 72 years old. He is survived by his widow and three children. The funeral will be held in Atlanta this afternoon.
