  • The following appeared on 6 July 1936 in The Port Arthur News: Frank Kempe, 42, of Austin, brother of Rhinehardt Kempe, manager of F. W. Woolworth company here, was killed in an automobile accident south of Dallas Sunday about 5 p. m., according to word received here.
         A brother-in-law of the victim, who was riding in the same automobile, was badly injured in the crash. No details of the accident were learned here.
         Mr. Kempe, who was stationed in Austin as a state grain inspector for about 15 years, is survived by his wife and a step-son in Austin; two brother, Ted Kempe of Dallas and R. Kempe of Port Arthur; and two sisters, Mrs. C. W. Hearn and Mrs. Ernest Brouchard, both of austin.
         He was a veteran of the World war. The body will be taken to Austin for services and burial.
         Mr. and Mrs. R. Kempe and three children left Port Arthur at noon today to drive to Austin.
  • The following appeared on 26 October 1964 in The Dallas Morning News: Funeral services for Ted Kempe, 69, of 2614 Anzio Drive, retired manager of the maintenance department of the Southwest Tablet Co., will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Restland Funeral Chapel. Burial in Restland Memorial Park. /P/ Mr. Kempe died here Sunday. /P/ He had been a Dallas resident and had managed the tablet company maintenance department for 33 years. He retired in June. /P/ Mr. Kempe was a member of the Hampton Place Church of Christ. /P/ Survivors: Wife; two sons, Edward E. Kempe and J. Gregg Kempe of Dallas; a daughter, Mrs. Benjamin H. Smith of Shreveport, La; two sisters, Mrs. C. W. Hearn and Mrs. Lillian Bouchard of Austin; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
