Peter Pincham

  • Peter Pincham was born circa 1797 in Virginia.

  • Peter Pincham appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1850 in Montgomery County, Texas. Other members of the household included Edmund Collin Wooldridge, Mary Jane Pincham, Antoinette Folks, Elizabeth Jane Folks and William Alfred Folks.
  • He was a farmer, according to the 1850 census.
  • He married Ann Dorris, daughter of Thomas Dorris and Clarinda Eckols, on 18 August 1851 in Montgomery County, Texas.
  • On Wednesday, 24 March 1852, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Used 28 lb of Pincham's rope," and on Monday, the 29th, "Sent off Mr Pincham cotton, 3 bales."
  • On Wednesday, 28 November 1855, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Sold Gabriel mule to P. Pincham."
  • Peter Pincham appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1860 in Montgomery County, Texas. Other members of the household included S. T. Pincham, E. C. Pincham, C. Pincham and A. Pincham. Also in the household was female M. Pincham (age 32, born in Tennessee), whose identify is uncertain, possibly wife Ann.
  • On Thursday, 15 January 1863, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Snow enough to cover the house tops before day. Killed 7 hogs for Mrs Erwin, 6 hogs for Maj Pincham
    & 3 hogs for Mrs King & sent them to them."     
  • Peter Pincham died on 15 October 1867.
