- Bryant Rhodes and Elizabeth (?) appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1860 in Huntsville PO, Walker County, Texas. Other members of the household included Samuel E. Rhodes, Oliver W. Rhodes, Efford B. Rhodes and McKay Michael.
- On Wednesday, 6 June 1860, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Got a new Gin home from Messrs Rhodes."
- On Wednesday, 13 June 1860, Green Wood recorded in his plantation daily account book: "Mr Rhodes of Huntsville started the new gin, says 'it will gin from 4 to 6 bales a day.'"
- He was a gin & mill manufacturer, with his brother William, according to the 1860 census.
