Tuesday in the Waters Funeral Home by the Rev. Rudolph Willis, pastor of Tabernacle Methodist Church; the Rev. Louis A. Haskell, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church and the Rev. W. S. Poyner, retired rector. Burial will be in the family plot of St. Paul Methodist Church Cemetery near Cartersville. /P/ Mr. Mims died at 3:30 p. m. Sunday at the residence after an extended illness of four years. He resided on the old Marion Highway, Route 1, Florence. /P/ Mr. Mims, a retired farmer, and resident of Florence County for 23 years was born June 11, 1876, a son of the late Nathan and Amelia Pegues Mims of Lamar and Camden. For a number of years he had farmed in Darlington County at Carters Crossroads near Lamar, before coming here. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Lamar. /P/ Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Virginia Edwards Mims of Florence; four daughters, Mrs. John Sox of Columbia, Mrs. Harry Miller, Mrs. Ernest McCormick and Mrs. Alsie Cameron, all of Florence; one son, Thomas W. Mims Jr. of Florence. /P/ Nephews will serve as pallbearers. /P/ Waters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
