Threadgill, Overseer.. Other members of the household included Sarah Adele Pegues, Cornelius Kollock Pegues and Wesley Leatherwood Pegues.
  • Sarah Adele Pegues died on 27 February 1896 at age 21 in Cheraw, Chesterfield County, South Carolina.
  • She was interred at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery, Wallace, Marlboro County, South Carolina.
  • The following appeared on 7 March 1896 in The News & Courier: Miss Sarah Pegues died of consumption at her home in Cheraw last Thursday night and was buried Saturday morning in the Pegues burying ground at New Hope Church in this county. She was about 20 years old at the time of her death. She leaves an extensive family connection in the Smithville section of this county and some relatives and a number of friends in Bennettsville, where she frequently visited. Her hosts of friends in this community are sorely grieved that such a pure, sweet life should have so soon lived out its brief span of existence.
