         A native Alabamaian who had raised 11 children, Mrs. Upshaw died Monday at the home of a son in Birmingham.
         Mrs. Upshaw died after a short illness.
         The Rev. Earl Potts and Dr. John H. Buchanan officiated at services. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.
         Born near Alexander City, Mrs. Upshaw lived in Tallapoosa County following the War Between the States. She moved to Selma in 1943 and lived there with a daughter, Mrs. G. N. Alston.
         From 1946 Mrs. Upshaw has lived in Birmingham with a son, W. C. Upshaw of Haygood-st, Mountain Brook.
         She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
         Surviving in addition to Mrs. Alston and W. C. Upshaw, are four sons, H. L. Upshaw of Eufaula; J. T. and A. R. Upshaw of Birmingham, and L. L. Upshaw of Phoenix, Ariz., and two daughters, Mrs. B. H. Walkley of Jackson and Mrs. L. M. Graves of Phoenix, Ariz.
