- Dr. Daniel McGilvary was born on 16 May 1828 in Buffalo Parish, Moore County, North Carolina.
- In 1858 he received a degree in theology from Princeton Theological Seminary, and in 1880 he received his Doctor of Divinity degree from tyhe University of North Carolina.
- Dr. Daniel McGilvary died on 22 August 1911 at age 83 in Chiang Mai, Siam.
