It having been my pleasure to attend at various times the closing exercises of a number of institutions, north and south, I noted with close scrutiny the attainments of the graduates, and believe they would have passed creditably in many of the more pretentious universities. . . .
       The following were the graduates and the subjects of the graduating discourse: . . . Man, His Past, Present and Future - -Kit P. Jones, of Grimes county. . .
