         Born in Marengo County, Alabama, he was a member of First United Methodist Church for 54 years. He also owned Ballow Motors automobile dealership on Main Street and was instrumental in establishing the Lucedale Country Club and Golf course. He played a major role in the development of the Lucedale Boy Scouts as well. A former member of the Lucedale Rotary Club, he died September 26.
         He is survived by his wife, Laura Wilkinson Ballow of Lucedale; daughter, Karen (Realus) Tucker of Crystal Springs; son, William Parmer "Billy" (Jennie) Ballow of Lucedale; three grandsons, Stacey (Victoria) Ballow, Shane (Tiffany) Ballow and Thad Tucker; two step-sons, Tom Shaw and George Shaw; two step-daughters, Laurie Shaw Wilson and Nancy Shaw and seven great-grandchildren.
         He was preceded in death by his parents, William Anson Ballow, Sr. and Rebecca (Torbert) Ballow; first wife, Nelda Parmer Ballow; grandson, Derrell Tucker and five brothers and sisters.
         Sigler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
