• She married Robert LeGrand Johnstone, son of Robert A. Johnstone and Cornelia Anne Elizabeth LeGrand, on 27 February 1907 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, by license, with Rev. W. Herridge officiating. The marriage was witnessed by Hampden LeGrand Johnstone.
• Robert LeGrand Johnstone and Caroline Ann Maclaren appeared in the US federal census of 15 April 1910 in Glen Ridge, Essex County, New Jersey, at 100 Ridgewood Avenue and three domestic servants, living next to his mother.. Other members of the household included Helen Irene Johnstone and Robert LeGrand Johnstone Jr.

• Caroline Ann Maclaren and Rodney Brown Stuart appeared in the US federal census of 1 April 1940 in Glen Ridge, Essex County, New Jersey, at 100 Ridgewood Avenue enumerated next to Catherine's son Robert.
