  • Based on circumstantial evidence, it is an educated guess that Cecelia H. Runnels was a daughter of Hosea H. Runnels and Elizabeth Wilson.
  • Tany Ann Hanes appeared in the US federal census of 1 June 1850 in Grimes County, Texas. Other members of the household included Cecelia H. Runnels, Unknown (?), Unknown (?) and B. S. Whiting. The household is enumerated next to that of Cecelia's future husband's sister Thenny Haynie Whiting. It is possible that T. A. Hanes, Mrs. Harrison and Mrs. Washington were sisters, posssibly Whitings. Also in the household is 2-year-old Hester Damm, whose immigrant German parents had died, leaving five children, each of whom was taken into a different home in Grimes County.
  • Enumerated not far from Cecelia in 1850 is William W. Arrington, whose wife Mary Ann Frances Ellington was the widow of Dudley Runnels, whose place in the Runnels family has yet to be discovered.
  • She married Uriah H. Haynie, son of Uriah Haynie and Dialthea Cook Perry, on 23 November 1854 in Grimes County, Texas.

  • Cecelia H. Runnels died on 14 May 1900 in Anderson, Grimes County, Texas.
  • She was interred at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Anderson, Grimes County, Texas.
  • The following appeared on 16 May 1900 in the Houston Daily Post: [Died] Mrs. Cecelia Haynie, aged 63; at Anderson, May 14.
