  • Jack Douglas Crow was born on 10 March 1928 in Charlotte, Dickson County, Tennessee.
  • The following appeared on 3 August 1928 in the Lockport Union-Sun & Journal: (Wendelville) The third annual Wagner reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Shipston, of Youngstown, last Sunday. Dinner and supper were served on tables on the lawn.
         After dinner the business meeting was held. It was opened by a song, "America," followed by prayer. Then came roll call showing fifty-six present. During the year there were two marriages, one birth and one death.
         The oldest member was Mrs. Lena Wagner, of Bear Ridge, and the youngest member, Jack D. Crow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Crow, of Youngstown.
         The following officers were re-elected: Philip Wagner, president; Martin Wagner, vice president; Mrs. Frank Phillips, secretary; Jacob Wagner, treasurer; Miss Edna Cutler, historian.
         The afternoon was spent in playing games, prizes going to the winners. Next year the reunion will meet at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Graff, of Wendelsville. . . . Mrs. Lena Wagner, of Bear Ridge, is spending a few weeks with her daughter, Mrs. Edward Shipston, of Youngtown.

  • He was interred at Oakland Rural Cemetery, Porter Center, Niagara County, New York.
  • The following appeared on 8 June 1994 in The Buffalo News: Services for Jack D. Crow, a retired U.S. Navy veteran and Postal Service employee, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Hardison Funeral Home, North Fourth and Ridge streets, Lewiston.
         Private burial will be in Oakland Rural Cemetery.
         Crow, 66, died Monday (June 6, 1994) in his Chestnut Street home after a long illness.
         He was born in Charlotte, Tenn., and had lived in Youngstown for 30 years. He served for 22 years as an officer in the Navy, retiring as a lieutenant. He worked for the Postal Service for 10 years, retiring in 1990.
         Crow was a former member of the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Company and served as a scoutmaster throughout the United States while serving in the Navy.
         Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret I. Combe; two sons, Douglas of Virginia Beach, Va., and John; two daughters, Ann Davis and Mary Stapleton; his mother, Grace Shipston Crow; a sister, Nancy Carden of Gerry; and 10 grandchildren.
