  • The following appeared on 11 January 1904 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: David Wagner of No. 1544 Eighth Street, died last night at 10:30 o'clock at the General Hospital in Buffalo of stomach trouble. The remains were brought to this city this morning by Undertaker John Seitz of Seitz & Col, arriving here over the Central at 11:18 o'clock.
         Deceased has been ailing for some time and was taken to the General Hospital a short time ago to be operated upon, but the operation was not performed.
         Mr. Wagner was 42 years of age and was a well-known and highly respected citizen. He was a mason by trade and was a member of Niagara Falls Lodge No. 81, I.O.O.F., and of Electric City Legion No. 20, Select Knights.
         A mother, four brothers, John, Jacob, Philip and Conrad, a wife and four children survive.
         The funeral will be observed on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the family home on Eighth Street, and later from the German Zion's Lutheran Chu8rch. The pastor, Rev. F. R. Hoffman, will officiate and the interment will be made in Oakwood cemetery. The services at the grave will be conducted under the auspices of the Odd Fellows and Select Knights.
