Cleaver here Sunday afternoon, with services conducted by the local Masonic Lodge. For many years he resided here, and two years ago moved to Chicago with his family. Death occurred suddenly Friday morning at his Chicago home. He was a railway mail clerk, with a route between Chicago and Cleveland.

F. Lambertus. Following the marriage ceremony, the newly marriaed couple left for Chicago, where they will spend their honeymoon, and visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Pautlitz.

  • The following appeared on 9 January 1947 in The Sandusky Register-Star-Journal: (Port Clinton) Funeral services for Benedict Petersen, 88, who died at his home on E. Second-st. will be Saturday at 2 p. m. from St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rev. John Braun, officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
         Mr. Petersen was a retired businessman and director of the East Clinton Lumber and Coal Co., and was well-known in this locality. He had been active in the Odd Fellows lodge for 59 years.
         He is survived by his widow, Caroline P. Petersen, sons, Fred, Edward, Benedict, here, and Christopher, in Boone, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Helena Hostrup, here; step-daughter, Mrs. Ida Sandergeld, here, and step-son, John Pautlitz, Chicago; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The J. A. Neidecker Co. has charge of arrangements.
  • The following appeared on 16 July 1953 in The Sandusky Register-Star-News: (Port Clinton) Mr. and Mrs. John Pautlitz, Chicago, visited at the home of his mother, Mrs. Benedict Petersen, E. Third-st, for several days. Pautlitz, a native of Port Clinton, left here about 40 years ago.
  • Caroline Hoffman died on 24 December 1956 at age 87 in Erie Township, Ottawa County, Ohio.
  • She was interred at Lakeview Cemetery, Port Clinton, Ottawa County, Ohio.
  • The following appeared on 26 December 1956 in The Sandusky Register-Star-News: (Port Clinton) Mrs. Caroline Petersen, 90, died Monday in the Erie-tp home of her daughter, Mrs. Woodrow Sondergeld, after a lengthy illness. The former Caroline Hoffman, she was born Oct. 30, 1866 [sic] in Sandusky.
         Mrs. Petersen was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and its Missionary Society; Port Clinton Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and Harp Rebekah Lodge.
         Surviving besides the daughter are a son, John Pautlitz, Chicago; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a brother Phillip Hoffman, Toledo and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Mahon, Cleveland.
         Friends may call at the Neidecker-Eberle-LeVeck Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday, the Rev. John E. Braun, officiating. Burial is to be in Lakeview Cemetery.
