D. called at the Sauter home last Thursday eve. Their daughter Mary Cannavan is staying for a time as she and William Sautter were married recently.

Sautter, 67, of Locke, died of a heart attack Monday afternoon while working at the home of Eugene Mosher in the Groton-Locke Road. /P/ Mr. Sautter is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Sautter; four daughters, Mrs. Violet Misulich of Endicott, Mrs. Gertrude Bailey of Groton, R.D.2; Mrs. Verma Hilliard of Ludlowville and Mrs. Katherine Mosher of Spring St., Groton; three sons, Lanson Sautter of Groton, R.D. 2; William Sautter, of Watkins Glen, and Merle Sautter, of the U.S. Army, stationed in Maryland; one brother, John Sautter of Elmira; five sisters, Mrs. Catherine Green, Mrs. Margaret Root, Mrs. Wilimina Morse, Mrs. Myra Love and Mrs. Della Teed, all of Endicott, 15 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. /P/ Friends may call from 7 to 9 p. m. Tuesday at the home of Robert J. Booth, 140 Elm St., Groton. /P/ Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Wellsboro, Pa., the Rev. Cobb, minister of the Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Oregon Hill, Pa.
  • The following appeared on 5 June 1958 in The Citizen: Deputy sheriffs are investigating a reported theft of two guns from the home of William Sautter of King Ferry. /P/ According to Deputy Ralph DiLallo, the guns are a .22 Springfield rifle with a silver barrel and a 24-20 pump gun. /P/ Mr. Sautter believes that the weapons were stolen from his home some time this week. He reported that he did not keep his house locked and the thieves probably walked in the door. /P/ Deputies believe that youngsters are responsible.
