  • The following appeared on 22 May 1916 in The Niagara Falls Gazette: The funeral services of Konrad Fink were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the family home at No. 915 Niagara avenue and at 2:30 o'clock from the Zion Lutheran Church, the Rev. Herman Brezing officiating. Interment was made in Oakwood cemetery. The bearers were seven grandsons of the deceased: Samuel Ade, Walter Fink, Walter Haeberle, George Fink, Fred Fink, Carl Heywang and George Haeberle.
         Despite the bad weather a large number of the friends of Mr. Fink and the family attended the funeral at the church to pay their last respects. A large representation from Niagara Falls Lodge No. 81 I. O. O. F. and the Board of Directors of the People's Bank were present and the large number of floral tributes attested the esteem in which Mr. Fink was held.
         The Board of Directors of the People's Bank met in their office on Saturday night and drew up the following resolution on the death of their fellow director:
         "At a special meeting of the Board of Directors of the Peoples Bank of Niagara Falls held this day, the members of the board with profound sorrow place on record the death of Mr. Konrad Fink, their late associate and beloved friend.
         "In the death of Konrad Fink, there is removed from life the last member of the original Board of Directors of this institutiion. For thirty years Mr. Fink served the interests of htis bank with perfect loyalty and just estimate of his responsibilities; punctual in attendance at meetings of the directorate, his amiable disposition and lovable qualities assured him of the esteem and affection of his associates who feel a deep sense of loss in his death.
         "Our friend will be greatly missed from the councils of this board, and as a tribute to his memory and appreciation of long and valued service it is ordered that this minute be entered on the record of our proceedings, and a copy thereof forwarded to the bereaved family."

          Two grandsons and four nephews served as pallbearers yesterday afternoon at the funeral of Emanuel Nussbaum, widely know aged resident, who died Tuesday. The services were conducted at the family home, 1641 Tenth street, by the Rev. Arthur H. Schmoyer, pastor of the Zion Evangelical Luthern church, and interment was made in Oakwood cemetery.
         The pallbearers were Nelson Nussbaum and Dr. George Nussbaum, grandsons, and Walter Haeberle, George Haeberle, Jr., Carl Haeberle and Frank Swan, nephews.

Zeitel of Lewiston N.Y. Survived by his mother, Mrs. George C. Haeberle, this city, and a brother, George Haeberle, Jr. of Lewiston; 2 sisters, Mrs. W. D. Styer of Coronado, Calif., and Mrs. O. N. Thompson, Palo Alto, Calif. Also survived by one grandchild. Funeral service at the Cornell and Daggett Chapel, 1517 Main St., Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1958 at 2 p.m., the Rev. Francis K. Wagshal officiating. Interment, Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 6 p.m. Sunday.
  • The following appeared on 3 March 1963 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Mrs. Margaret F. Haeberle, 96, a member of one of this city's most prominent families, died Saturday (March 2, 1963) at her home, 3061 Lewiston Road, after a long illness.
         She was the widow of George C. Haeberle who died in 1946. Mr. Haeberle operated the Haeberle Lumber Co. and Haeberle Realty Co. The latter firm owns the Haeberle Plaza.
         Born in Niagara Falls, Mrs. Haeberle was a life-long resident. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the church's Martha Society.
         She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wilhelm Styer, Coronado, Calif., and Mrs. Olin Thompson, Palo Alto, Calif., and a son, George C. Haeberle Jr. of Lewiston.
         In addition, five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive.
         A private funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Cornell and Daggett Funeral Home. Rev. Milan Slahor, pastor of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Lewiston, will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.
         The family said contributions to the American Heart Fund and the Zion Lutheran Memorial will be acceptable.

         Mrs. Charlotte Haeberle Thompson, 66, widow of Gen. Orin Thompson, died Sunday in Palo Alto, Calif., where she had lived since 1948.
         Mrs. Thompson was born in Niagara Falls, daughter of the late George C. and Margaret Haeberle, pioneer residents. Her husband served the U. S. Army with distinction in both World War I and World War II, retiring with the rank of brigadier general in 1947.
         Mrs. Thompson is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Patch, Palo Alto; a son, Lt. Col. Alfred Thompson, Menlo Park, Calif., and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, George Haeberle Jr., Niagara Falls, and a sister, Mrs. W. D. Styer, Coronado, Calif. Another brother was the late Walter Haeberle, Niagara Falls.
         Funeral services will be held in California Tuesday with burial in the Presidio Cemetery, San Francisco. Donations to the American Cancer Society will be acceptable as memorial Tributes.
  • The following appeared on 7 April 1964 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: (Lockport) Mrs. Margaret Haeberle, left a gross estate of $108,776 when she died March 2, 1964, according to a state tax appraisal filed Monday in Surrogate's Court.
         The net taxable estate was listed as $99,933. Mrs. Haeberle was the widow of George Haeberle, founder of Haeberle Lumber Co.
         Beneficiaries listed were a son, George Haeberle Jr., Lewiston; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothea H. Styer of Coronado, Calif; a granddaughter, Carolyn Zettel, North Tonawanda, and the estate of another daughter, the late Charlotte H. Thompson of Palo Alto, Calif. The latter died May 19.

         George Haeberle, 66, of 151 Buffalo Ave., president of the former Haeberle Lumber Co., died in Memorial Hospital today (Oct. 18, 1966) after a long illness.
         Mr. Haeberle, a native of this city, also was president of the Haeberle Realty Corp. and the Haeberle Paint and Builders Supply Co.
         In addition, he was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, a former member of the Church Council, a member of the Niagara Falls Country Club, the Niagara Club, the Advisory Board of the Manufacturers and Traders Trust Co., the board of directors of the Travelers Aid Society and secretary of the Oakwood Cemetery Association.
         Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; two sons, George of Lewiston and Peter of this city; and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Styer of Coronado, Calif.
         Mr. Haeberle was the brother of the late Walter G. Haeberle and Mrs. Charlotte Thompson.
         Friends may call at the Cornell and Daggett Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A private family memorial service will be conducted in the funeral chapel Wednesday morning by Rev. Paul R. Swank. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions to charities will be acceptable as tributes, the family said.
