  • The following appeared on 7 March 1940 in the Silver Creek News-Times: (South Dayton) Thomas P. Simpson, fifty-nine years old, passed away at his home in Meadville Friday morning, March 1, after an illness of five weeks. He was born in South Dayton January 23, 1881, and lived here until he was sixteen years old. Then he went to Buffalo where he learned to be a steam-fitter, which occupation he followed all his live. Ten years ago he moved to Meadville and became connected with the American Viscose Co., which position he held at the time of his death.
         He married Miss Tirza Brennan and one son was born to them, Robert A. Simpson of Ogdensburgh. He is survived by his wife, one son and one grandson, of Ogdensburgh, and three sisters, Mrs. Clayton W. Perry, Mrs. Roy E. Hale and Mrs. Chauncey H. Brown of South Dayton.
         The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Clayton W. Perry, the Rev. E. V. Rupert officiating, with interment in the family lot in Villenova cemetery.
         Mr. Simpson was a member of Hiram Lodge No. 105, F. & A. M., in Buffalo.
