Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park. /P/ She and her sister, Miss Gwendoline M. Yates, who died May 2, 1971, had a home at 2256 Central Ave. Major Yates was a native of Lawrence, Mass., and had been an officer in the Salvation Army 30 years before retirement 10 years ago. Her last appointment was territorial headquarters in Atlanta, Ga. /P/ Survivors include her brother, Dr. Theodore Yates of Columbia, S.C; three nephews, Dr. Jack Rheney of Orangeburg, S.C., Dr. Theodore B.
