  • The following appeared on 7 December 1936 in the Lockport Union-Sun & Journal: James S. Hollenbeck, aged 86 years, a lifelong resident of the town of Royalton, passed away Monday, Dec. 7, at the home of his son, Frederick J. Hollenbeck. Besides his son he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Daniel Behe of Royalton, and Mrs. Alvin Sand, the town of Lockport, also three grandchidren and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 2 o'clock at the home of his son. Burial at Chestnut Ridge cemetery.

Sutfin of Ballston Spa.
         . . . The bridesmaid, Miss Ruth Samuelson of Wilmette, Ill., college "big sister" of the bride, wore a gown of pink mousseline de soie and lace. She carried a pink gladioli.
         The Rev. Paul Robinson of Forestville, was best man and ushers were Robert Sutfin, brother of the groom, and Percy Craig, the groom's brother-in-law.
         The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Lyle C. Anderson of Northville, with whom Miss Hollenbeck has been associated in rural missionary work in the mountain communities outside Northville since her graduation from Wheator College in June, 1941.
         . . . Mr. and Mrs. Stufin left for a week's trip to Schroon Lake. After August they will be at home on Martin Avenue, Ballston Spa.
         Pre-nuptial affairs for the bride included a linen shower by mail, given by Mrs. Samuelson; three miscellaneous showers, given by Mrs. Warren Whipple of Northville, Mrs. Clyde Allport and Mrs. Loren Peters, cousins of the bride and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sutfin of Ballston Spa, parents of the groom.
         A grocery shower was given by the Lynwood Sunday School; a bedroom shower by Mrs. Alvin Sand, aunt of the bride, of Raymond Hill; at the home of Harry Walters, a gift was presented by the Young People of the Calvary Baptist Church, Niagara Falls.
         Guests were present from Lockport, Medina, Randolph, Broadalbin, Northville, Ballston Spa, Forestville and Wilmette.
