         Sister Doris Louise Cox Taylor "Cookie" was born December 21, 1946 in Cuero to Bonnie Sr. and Dorothy Brown Taylor. She professed a hope in Christ at 11 years old. She joined Little Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A. Bedford. She attended Daule High School and graduated from Cuero High School. She was united in marriage to Robert C. Cox and to this union one son was born, Rodney E. Cox. She later united with J.T. McCloud II, to this union was born two sons, Jimmie T. "Rocc" McCloud and Shea D. McCloud, Sr. She was a current member of Little Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of her brother Rev A.L. Taylor. She was the choir director, the creator of the "wall of fame" in the church annex, the choir secretary, on the kitchen committee and assisted throughout the church when her services were needed.
         While attending vocational school she worked at Detar Hospital in the central sterilization department. Later she moved to Victoria where she managed several rental properties. She was later employed at VISD for 26 years at VHS, Memorial High and Victoria West High School until her health failed her. She was very dedicated to her students and loved her colleagues. She will be sorely missed by her family. She was an angel and care-taker to all. If there was a need, she was there. You could always count on Cookie. She was a grandmother to all the kids.
         She is survived by her mother, sons, Rodney E. (Linda) Cox, Jimmie T. "Rocc" (Melissa) McCloud, and Shea D. McCloud Sr; grandchildren, Chanelle Cox, Tyson Cox, Roman Cox, Parrish McCloud, Daric Miller, Brenae McCloud, Shea McCloud Jr., and Cameron McCloud. She is also survived by her brothers, Rev. Robert (Alberta) Taylor of San Antonio, Rev A.L. (Ann) Taylor of Cuero, Melvin (Jackee) Taylor of Cuero, Marvin (Rachael) Taylor of Missouri City, and one sister, Mary Taylor of Cuero, one aunt, Clara Cooper of San Bernardino, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Cookie is preceded in death by her father, Bonnie Taylor Sr., her husband, Robert Cox, brother, Bonnie Taylor Jr., sisters, Betty Taylor, and Pastor Dora Jones, grandparents Prince Brown, Beatrice Brown, Mattie Lee Mills, and Rev. Eugene and Clara Phillips.
         Visitation will be held Friday, March 8, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Little Zion Baptist Church. Services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at L.E. Meador Encampment Grounds with Rev. A.L. Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Woodman Cemetery.
         Pallbearers include Dewone Williams, Chad Taylor, Thomas Williams, Jerome Green, Robert Taylor Jr., and Les Rhodes Jr. [:CR;]      Memorial donations may be made to Little Zion Baptist Church.
