  • He married Louise Mary Frank, daughter of Cornelius Frank and Rosetta Peterson, on 10 November 1962 in Clark County, Nevada.
  • Billy Ray Smith became a widower at the 4 December 1990 death of his wife.
  • The following appeared on 24 June 1997 in the Redding Record Searchlight: (Redding) Roy Edward Rogers, 56, of Redding died Thursday, June 19, 1997, at his residence after a long illness.
         An open house will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday at the family residence at 1523 Roxie Lane in Redding.
         Mr. Rogers was born Oct. 16, 1940, in Osakis, Minn. He moved to Shasta County in 1942 from Osakis.
         He owned a real estate company in Redding, was a member of the Redding Moose Lodge 1006 and was a former member of Operating Engineers in Redding.
         Survivors include son Ed of Marion, Utah; daughters Debbie Rogers of Shasta Lake and Laurie Rogers of Blue Lake; stepfather Billy Smith of Needles; brothers Ray of Shasta Lake and Richard of Vancouver, Wash; sisters Ethel Rogers of Needles and Betty Simmons of Redding; and six grandchildren.
         Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Palo Cedro.
