  • Albert Michael Kearney was born on 28 December 1935 in Lead, Lawrence County, South Dakota.
  • The following appeared on 30 December 1935 in the Lead Daily Call: A son, their third child, was born to Mr. and Mrs. William Kearney, 613 McClellan street, on Saturday, December 28. The baby weighed 8-3/4 pounds a birth and has been named Albert Michael. Both mother and child are reported to be doing excellently.
  • The following appeared on 23 January 1936 in the Lead Daily Call: The 15-day-old son of Mr. and Mrs. William Kearney of Lead is suffering from an attack of pneumonia.
  • William Albert Kearney and Mary Graham appeared in the US federal census of 1 April 1940 in Lead, Lawrence County, South Dakota, at 613 McClellen Street. Other members of the household included Albert Michael Kearney, Mary Ellen Kearney and William John Kearney.
  • Albert Michael Kearney died on 13 May 2004 at age 68.
  • He was interred at Loveland Burial Park, Loveland, Larimer County, Colorado.
  • The following appeared on 16 May 2004 in the Loveland Reporter Herald: Albert “Mike” Kearney died May 13, 2004, of congestive heart failure at the age of 68.
         He was born Dec. 28, 1935, in Lead, S.D., to William John [sic] Kearney and Mary (Davis) [sic] Kearney and moved to Loveland in 1940 from Fort Laramie, Wyo.
         He married Katherine Anderson on July 4, 1958, in Grover, Colo. [:CR;]      He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
         Mr. Kearney worked as a project manager in construction.
         He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1051 in Loveland and was voted Elk of the Year in 1994 for his many contributions to the lodge. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Moose Lodge.
         Mike enjoyed elk and deer hunting, fishing, camping and Indian motorcycles.
         He is survived by his wife, Kate Kearney of Loveland; three daughters, Mary Kearney of Boise, Idaho, Debbie Knapp and husband Jim of Loveland, and Cindy Kearney of Loveland; three grandchildren, Jeff Knapp and wife Tabitha, Dustin Knapp, and Allison Kearney, all of Loveland; a great-grandson, Bryson Michael Knapp; and numerous nieces and nephews.
         He was preceded in death by his parents, William John [sic] Kearney in 1940 and Mary (Davis) [sic] Kearney in 1968, brother Bill Kearney in 2001 and sister-in-law Mary Kearney in 1999.
         A memorial service will be held Monday morning at 10 o’clock at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
