  • The following appeared on 10 April 1941 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Mrs. Elizabeth M. Hall, widely known member of a pioneer Niagara Falls family and wife of Dr. Frank Hall, prominent retired physician, died at her home, 655 Orchard parkway, this morning. Having been ill only a few weeks, her death was unexpected and came as a shock to her many friends.
         Mrs. Hall, a member of the Mayle family which has been identified with community life here since village days, was born here 70 years ago and had spent her entire life in Niagara Falls. She was formerly active in various fields of endeavor, serving for years as secretary of the Ladies' Parish committee of St. Peter's Episcopal church, filling several terms as a member of the Republican city committee and serving on the municipal library board. She was a member of the Women's Republican club.
         Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Louis F. Hall, of this city; four brothers, Edward H. and Albert T. Mayle, of this city; George Mayle, of Los Angeles, and Frank Mayle, of Newark, N. J., and two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Leonhardt and Mrs. Grace Mayle, of this city.
         Funeral services will be held at the family home at 3 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. D. Charles N. Tyndell, and the Rev. Dr. Philip W. Mosher officiating. Burial will be in Riverdale cemetery.

  • The following appeared on 22 March 1944 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Dr. Frank Hall, prominent retired physician, died in his sleep last night at his home, 552 Third street. He was about 75 years old.
         Born in Philadelphia, Pa., Dr. Hall went to Canada with his parents at an early age. He received his education in Canada and graduated from the medical college of Western university at London, Ont., about 1890. He came to this city immediately after his graduation and had resided here since.
         For many years during his practice of medicine here Dr. Hall was also associated with his father-in-law, the late Louis F. Mayle, in the operation of the Cataract Consumers Brewery. He retired from medical practice about five years ago.
         He was a member of Niagara Frontier Lodge, No. 132, F. and A. M.
         He is survived by a son, Louis P. Hall, of this city; a sister, Eleanor Hall, of London, Ont., and three brothers, Walter Hall, of Pittsburgh, Pa; Charles Hall, of Tampa, Fla., and Fred Hall, of Los Angeles, Calif.
         Funeral services will be held at the Cornell and Daggett funeral chapel at 2 p. m. tomorrow, with the Rev. Philip W. Mosher officiating. Interment will be made in Riverdale cemetery.

  • The following appeared on 26 July 1945 in The Niagara Falls Gazette: Back salary and stock of the Great Lakes Oil Company, Inc., of which he was president, comprised more than half of the $92,013.42 estate left by Dr. Frank Hall, of 655 Orchard parkway, this city, who died March 21, 1944, according to a state tax appraisal filed in the surrogate's office at Lockport.
         . . . A son, Louis F. Hall, 552 Third street, this city, is sole heir.
