  • The following appeared on 16 October 1917 in the Buffalo Evening News: Mr. Joseph J. McKenney of Niagara Falls, N. Y., announces the engagement of his daughter, mrs. Sadie DuFrane, to Mr. Nelson M. Baker, the marriage to take place in Buffalo, N. Y., in November.
  • Joseph J. McKenney died on 23 May 1939 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York, at Memorial Hospital.
  • He was interred at Port Allegany, McKean County, Pennsylvania.
  • The following appeared on 24 May 1939 in The Niagara Falls Gazette: Joseph J. McKenney, 70-year-old carpenter, of 230 Sixty-ninth street, died at Memorial hospital late yesterday after a long illness.
         Born in Maine, Mr. McKenney had lived in Niagara Falls for 23 years and had many friends here. He was a member of the Niagara Falls Lodge, No. 838, Loyal Order of Moose.
         Surviving him are two sons, Sherman, of this city, and Joseph, Jr., of Toledo, Ohio; four daughters, Harriet McKenney and Mrs. R. C. Swartout, of this city, Mrs. Sadie Baker, of Lackawanna, and Mrs. Rinehart Johnson, of Port Alleghaney, Pa; three brothers, Cyrus B. McKenney, of this city, Claude Veysey, of Syracuse, and George Mills, of Erie, Pa., and two sister,s Mrs. George Cosman, of this city, and Mrs. NHina Evans, of Norwood, Mass.
         Funeral services will be held at the Cobler funeral home, 640 Park place, at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, with the Rev. S. S. Davies officiating. Burial will be in Port Alleghaney, Pa., Friday afternoon.
