  • She was a sponsor at the baptism/christening of Lucille Christine Kammerer on 4 September 1887 at Zion Lutheran Church in Niagara County, New York; in Suspension Bridge.
  • The following appeared on 11 February 1893 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: William Frederick Zeiger, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Zeiger of Willow avenue, died at the home of his parents Thursday morning of pneumonia. The funeral was held from the house Friday afternoon.
  • Elizabeth A. Wattengel became a widow at the 9 October 1913 death of her husband Louis Zeiger.
  • The following appeared on 10 October 1913 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Louis Zeiger died at his home at No. 645 Fourth street yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock after a lingering illness. Mr. Zeiger was born at LaSalle, August 19, 1856. After spending his early boyhood days there he removed to this city where he resided up to the time of his death. He was a member of the Niagara Frontier Lodge No. 132, F. & A. M., and also a member of the Woodmen of the World.
         Besides his wife Mr. Zeiger is survived by one daughter, Marie, one brother, Frank, and three sisters, Mrs. Adam Mattern, Miss Elizabeth and Miss Louise, all of this city. Mr. Zeiger's unmarried sisters arrived from Germany this morning where they had been visiting for several months. The steamer on which they returned from Europe was held outside Sandy Hook for a day, or they would have reached home before he died.
         The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock from the family residence, No. 654 Fourth street. The Masonic Fraternity will be in charge of the services and all members of the Niagara Frontier Lodge are requested to meet at the Masonic Temple at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. Philip W. Mosher will officiate and the burial will be in Riverdale cemetery.
  • The following appeared on 14 October 1950 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Mr. and Mrs. Atwood B. Oatman, Summit, N.J., are spending the weekend in the city following several days spent in Buffalo, where Mr. Oatman attended the Electro Chemical society meetings at Hotel Statler. Mrs. Oatman's mother, Mrs. Louis Zeiger, Jefferson apartments, who has been their guest for the last month, returned home with them.
  • Elizabeth A. Wattengel died on 7 May 1955 at age 91 in Madison, Morris County, New Jersey.
  • She was interred at Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, Niagara County, New York.
  • The following appeared on 10 May 1955 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Funeral services will be held Thursday for a native of LaSalle, Mrs. Elizabeth W. Zeiger, 91, who died Saturday (May 7, 1955) in Madison, N.J. Mrs. Zeiger was the widow of Louis Zeiger, founder and first treasurer in 1887 of the Niagara Permanent Loan Assn., who died in 1913.
         Mrs. Zeiger was the daughter of Andrew and Susan Wattengel. She came to Niagara Falls in 1884 as a bride and more recently lived with her niece, Mrs. E. A. Kinsey, in the Jefferson Apartments. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
         Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Atwood B. Oatman, Summit, N. J; a granddaughter, Mrs. Raymond H. Spencer, Decatur, Ill., and three great granddaughters. Services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Cornell and Daggett Funeral Chapel with the Very Rev. Blake B. Hammond officiating. Burial will be in Riverdale cemetery.
