  • The following appeared on 6 December 1915 in The Daily News: (Attica) Word has been received here of the death at [P]ortola, Cal., of Mrs. Kate Sierk, wife of Jacob Sierk of this place, at the age of 54 years.
         Mr. and Mrs. Sierk left here about five weeks ago to visit the Panama-Pacific Exposition and relatives on the Pacific coast. Mrs. Sierk was taken ill at a hotel in San Francisco, but was able to be moved to the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. C. Pettibone of [P]ortola. The remains will be brought to Attica where the funeral and burial will be held.
         Mrs. Sierk leaves, besides her husband, two sons, William and Roy; a brother, Charles Lindsey, and two sisters, Mrs. Otis Benham and Mrs. Charles Bowen, all of this place.

  • The following appeared on 15 May 1930 in The Attica News: Jacob Sierk was born in Bennington April 4, 1854, son of Henry and Elsie Olswagenor Sierk, and died on Sunday night at St. Jerome's hospital, Batavia, where he had been a patient for four months.
         Surviving are one daughter, mrs. Edgar Pettibone, and two sons, Roy Sierk of Niagara Falls and Wm. Sierk of Oakfield; five sisters, Mrs. John Schlenker, Mrs. Charles Ripstein, Mrs. Anna VanValkenburg, Mrs. Charles Johnson and Mrs. Kathryn Geise, all of Attica; four brothers, Marcus, Henry and Fred of Attica and George of Kansas City, Mo; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
         Funeral services were held at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Amelia Sierk on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment at Forest Hill cemetery.
  • The following appeared on 8 December 1934 in The Niagara Falls Gazette: Funeral services for Mrs. Waunetta B. Wilson, wife of Peter M. Wilson, of 3783 McKoon avenue, who died Wednesday after a short illness, were held at the family home yesterday afternoon, with many friends in attendance. The services were conducted by the Rev. George B. Hassey, pastor of the Hyde Park United Presbyterian church. Interment was made in Riverdale cemetery.
         The pallbearers were Davis Wright, William H. Borrows, Roy Sierk, Clarence House, Burton Crowell and Frank Houlahan.
