         Everett, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert J. Everett, 428 Kinsley St., was walking when the accident occurred, and McCabe brought him to City Hospital. [:CR;]      The young man is suffering from a fracture to his right leg, lacerations and brush burns to the right side of his face and neck.
  • The following appeared on 6 January 1944 in the Rome Daily Sentinel: (Sherrill, Jan. 6) Joseph Prowton, 84, retired Oneida Limited employee, who had lived here for 29 years, died this morning at his home, 141 Ransom Ave., after a long illness.
         He was born in England, Aug. 9, 1859 and had been employed here as a silver polisher. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Annie Prowton; a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Worthington, Toronto; two step-sons, Herbert Everett and William Everett, both of Sherrill; also several grandchildren.
         He attended Gethsemane Episcopal Church.
  • Agnes V. Wilson became a widow at his death.
  • Herbert James Everett died on 22 February 1956 at age 67 in Sherrill, Oneida County, New York, following a heart attack on a family trip to California, where was hospitalized for weeks, then flown home while Agnes drove Howard back.
  • He was interred at Saint Helena's Cemetery, Oneida, Madison County, New York.
  • The following appeared on 28 February 1956 in the Rome Daily Sentinel: (Sherrill) Funeral services for Herbert J. Everett were held Saturday afternoon at 2 at the Craig W. Crowell Funeral Home with the Rev. Berl A. Lewis, pastor of the Co-operating churches officiating.
         Bearers were Stephen Dorsick, Arthur H. Laing, Albert Gutheinz, Lawrence M. Kennedy, Sherrill and Charles J. Mautner, and D. Hersee Harris, Oneida.
         Among the floral offerings were pieces from Foremens Assn., OL; Black Buff of OL; C.A.C. Men Bowlers; Oneida Lodge, B.P.O.E; Sherrill Lodge F&AM; Sorting Dept. of OL; Oneida Nest of Owls; Roll and Anneal of OL; The Gang from the Seneca, and neighbors, relatives and friends.
         These groups called at the funeral home Friday evening: Oneida OES; Sherrill Lodges F&AM; Oneida Lodge B.P.O.E., Black Buff Dept. of OL; and the Womens Auxiliary of Plymouth Church.
  • The following appeared on 14 October 1957 in the Utica Daily Press: (Sherrill) William (Rosie) Everett, 66, 139 Pexton St., died Oct. 11, 1957, in Oneida City Hospital after a brief illness.
         He was born in Canada Jan. 22, 1891, the son of James and Annie Laing Everett. He came to make his home in Sherrill in 1914.
         Before retirement, he was a stockhandler at Oneida Ltd. Mr. Everett was a veteran of World War I, a member of Sherrill American Post 230, and of the Community Associated Clubs.
         Survivors include an aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth Laing, Oneida; several cousins, a nephew, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Herbert Everett, Sherrill.
         The funeral service was held at 2 p. m. yesterday at the Craig W. Crowell Funeral Home with the Rev. Berl A. Lewis officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Oneida.
