  • The following appeared on 24 July 1931 in the Niagara Falls Gazette: Mr. and Mrs. Martin H. Mayle of South avenue wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Helen Louise, to James Wilbur Cameron, of Trenton, Mich., formerly of this city. The wedding will take place October third.
  • He married Helen Louise Mayle, daughter of Martin Helmuth Mayle and Louise Margaret Barnett, on 3 October 1931 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York, at Pierce Avenue Presbyterian Church.
  • The following appeared on 8 October 1931 in The Niagara Falls Gazette: The Pierce Avenue Presbyterian Church was the scene of a very pretty wedding, Saturday, October 3, when Helen Louise Mayle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Mayle, of 2230 South avenue became the bride of James Wilbur Cameron, son of James Cameron, of Pine avenue. Rev. Louis F. Mayle, of Groveland, N. Y., uncle of the bride, who also married the bride's parents, 25 years ago, that day, performed the ceremony, assisted by Rev. W. C. Crofts. As the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march, played by Robert Sterling, filled the church, the bridesmaid, Miss Helen Cameron, sister of the groom entered, followed by the maid of honor, Miss Betty Mayle, sister of the bride. The bride, who was also celebrating her birthday, was given in marriage by her father. She wore a beautiful gown of ivory satin, made n princess style with ivory velvet hat and moire pumps to match and carried a shower bouquet of roses. The maid of honor was gowned in yellow satin, wore eggshell moire pumps and carried butterfly roses. The bridesmaid wore green satin and moire pumps and carried white roses. The best man was William Lewis and the ushers were Bert Robertson and Leonard Day.
         After the ceremony a reception and wedding supper were held at the church. The tables were decorated in yellow and white with bouquets of gladioli.
         Mr. and Mrs. Cameron left for a trip through the east and will be at home after November 1, at Wyandotte, Mich.
         The out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Mayle and daughter, Amy, of Groveland, N. Y., Mr. and Mrs. Bloy, of Detroit, Mich; Mrs. George Barnett, Miss Elizabeth Barnett, Miss Ruth Barnett, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lepine and two children, Glen Richards, of Buffalo, N. Y; Mrs. Mary M. Cushman, Miss Ethel Staffen, Wilbur Cushman, George Cushman, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Ulcholson of St. Catharines; Mr. and Mrs. Amos Stuart, of Niagara Falls, Ont; Mrs. John Guinther, of Niagara Falls, N. Y., bridesmaid at the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Mayle 25 years ago was also present.
         Pre-nuptual affairs were showers given by Miss Helen Cameron, Mrs. Joseph Kobus, the Misses Dorothy and Marjory McCracken, the Girls' Club and the employees of the bank, also the Beta Sigma Class of the Sunday school, the Intermediate teachers and the Christian Endeavor Society.
